In testing, I've found a major limitation of the SSG-140's gigibit ethernet ports and am wondering if there is a solution. Thru a gig switch, I can see traffic hitting near that gig speed, 900MB/s between these two servers so I know its not the server hardware. For testing purposes, I have two servers with gigabit NICs plugged into the two gig ports on the SSG-140. They are configured for different subnets with very few policies between the two. Verified that both servers are showing that the server NICs autonegotiated 1000/mb speeds. Upon transfering the same file, that transfer speed is much closer to a 100MB connection speed, topping out at 18MB/s.
Have others seen this? Is there an internal speed limit on how much traffic a SSG-140 can transfer between the two gig interfaces?
